Dear Faith Community Family,
As the state and local authorities begin to launch phased plans to re-open businesses and modify stay-at-home orders, we want to update you on how we plan to move forward at Faith Community.
Due to the nature of our services and the guidelines for social distancing outlined by our local health authorities, we will continue meeting online through May 31. While we miss seeing you in person, we have enjoyed this new and creative way of sharing the Gospel. As a church, we’ve had the opportunity to reach people we may never have had the chance to inside a building as well as the opportunity to serve our community in a variety of ways. We’ve seen an increase in online engagement like never before, including an influx of connection through prayer requests and several decisions to follow Jesus! We’ve watched the Faith Community family encourage one another and meet the needs of their neighbors. This is what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Christ!
Our tentative plan is to relaunch in-building Sunday services on June 7. However, we will be modifying a few things during services and taking it slow as we ease into our next steps. We will also continue streaming services online, so if you aren’t comfortable getting out at that point, you can still join in!
In light of the recommendations to social distance and ensure a safe space, all midweek programs, Groups and other activities will not meet in the building for the time-being once we return. We know this may be disappointing, but we can assure you that our leaders and teams will be doing their best to connect you with resources and avenues to continue this journey at home and offsite with your family. Please stay tuned to our social media accounts and watch your email inbox for updates.
All that being said, as the stay-at-home orders are modified by County, we encourage you to meet with small groups in your home while observing safe, social distancing practices. Consider hosting a watch party for Faith Community Online on Sundays. Try meeting your group in a park for a picnic or call a friend to ask how they are doing. If we’ve learned anything during this time, it’s that community is key to moving from where we are to where God wants us to be – and community can happen anywhere when we are intentional!
As with this entire process, we’re unsure of how the Coronavirus situation may change over the next few weeks. Please be patient as we do our best to make wise and informed decisions on how to move forward as a church. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement and generosity throughout this unprecedented time. We’re praying for you, too, and are believing great things are ahead! We’re in this together!
